The traditional Russian Orenburg shawl technique is applied for knitting in the round. The yarn used is a little thicker than what you see on Orenburg shawls. The border is worked first and sts are picked up for knitting in the round. Charts and written instructions make this pattern a breeze to knit. No purl sts, just knit and k2tog, no ssk.
