Call The Brigade Fire Engine Sweater - Freddie
Have you ever met a small child who is not fascinated by fire engines? Meet Freddie, a bold red fire engine kids jumper worked in intarsia across the front with striped sleeves and a knitted ladder sewn on for a satisfying 3D finish.
Designed by Jane Burns, with 18 years of experience creating exclusive baby and children’s knitting patterns.
The smaller details, such as the siren, lights, and windows, can be swiss darned on after the knitting is complete, which keeps the intarsia section very manageable. The ladder is worked using either crochet chains or knitted i-cord, so there is an option for everyone. Knitted from the bottom up and seamed with set-in sleeves.
Worked in King Cole Big Value DK or any DK weight yarn. A great stash buster.
