Similar to the caduceus from the greek mythology, two snakes organically winding themself around a ridged staff, in this shawl two widely different elements enter into a dialogue.

In this shawl fluid movements and elegant lace work clash with hard lines and edges who still go with each other and build a whole.

The dynamic lace patterns with it’s intricate cable work is kept at bay with a large zig-zag in the middle of the shawl. To balance that the other side of the zig-zag is kept in stockinette stitch.

The yarn choice can elevate this effect even more. For the fluid lace and cable part the calming silver of the brilliantly soft SpaceCadet Celeste Fingering in “Drizzle” is a perfect match. The stockinette stich part, with it’s larger flat area, is perfect for that special hands-on yarn with a variegated colour or a lovely semi-solid like SpaceCadet Celeste Fingering in “Malachite”, to give it a bit of interest.

Size: 43×180 cm (17×71 inches) but can be adapted in length and width.

Needles: 3.5mm (US 4) needle

Yarn: 1 skein SpaceCadet Celeste Fingering in “Drizzle” for Main Colour and (448.0 meters (489.9 yards), 100 grams) in Contrast Colour, I used a handspun silk, SpaceCadet Celeste Fingering in “Malachite” is a perfect commercial alternative.
