Designed especially for the Cool Wool Curated Collection Edition 2 this is a revisit to my much loved (and worn) Cadgwith Cardigan. I have echoed the traditional Cornish Gansey stitch, the Lizard Lattice over the balloon sleeves. Depending on where fishermen worked would influence the stitch pattern used in their hand knitted indigo blue jumpers. Cadgwith is one of the few remaining fishing villages on the Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall. With stunning scenery cascading into the sea between high cliffs this jumper is the perfect solution when the autumnal and winter storms come rolling in. The jumper is knitted top down in one piece with sleeves divided off and knitted in the round. It is a comfortable fit with a wide folded neckline and balloon sleeves.

Difficulty
Knitted from the top down you will need to be able to knit and purl, make stitches to create the raglan and knit in the round. There is however minimal sewing with just the ends to tuck away.

Yarn and Notions
Aran yarn (4, Worsted), I used James C Brett Croftland Aran in Seagreen. It’s a 200g ball with 390 meters / 425 yards and is 80% acrylic 20% wool. Between 650 meters and 1645 meters depending on finished size

Needles:
4mm (US 6) 40 cm / 16” circular needle for neckline
4mm (US 6) either 60cm / 24” or 80 cm / 32 “circular needle for body rib to accommodate body stitches
5mm (US 8) either 60 cm / 24” or 80 cm / 32” circular needle to accommodate yoke and body stitches

The sleeves can be worked using the magic loop method on circular needles:

Optional: 4mm (US 6) double pointed needles for sleeve cuff
Optional: 5mm (US 8) double pointed needles for sleeves

Four moveable stitch markers, tapestry needle, scissors

Tension
18 sts and 24 rows/rounds over 10 cm / 4 inch square in stocking stitch
