A celebration of Canadian-American ties, the Cabri Waltz that inspired this design is named for a small Saskatchewan town, but popularized by Joe Pancerzewski, a North Dakota fiddler. The delicate cable and lace pattern on the back of this shell mirrors the wonderfully elegant yet lively contra dances where this tune would have been a star.

The Cabri Shell is a loose fitting shell with a wide, shallow, scooped neckline that is the same depth front and back, and a split hem (back extends 4” longer than the front). The cable and lace panel is centered on the back; the sides and front are worked in Stockinette stitch. Stitches are cast on for the minimal sleeves and the armholes are edged using the same decorative border as the bottom hemlines. The neckline and bottom borders are finished with an I-cord BO.
