Sideways cables are a fun and different way to dress up a simple raglan pullover. The cables provide a nice scalloped edge, creating texture and interest.

NOTE: This sweater begins with the cabled lower body, which is worked as a long rectangle, then sewn together to form a tube. Stitches are picked up along one end of the tube and worked to the armholes, then the body is set aside. The sleeves are worked in the round to the armholes, then joined to the body. The raglan yoke is worked in the round to the neck.

GAUGE: 18 sts & 23 rows over 4 in / 10 cm in stockinette st. 25 sts & 21 rows over 4 in / 10 cm in cable pattern
For accuracy check gauge and adjust needle size if necessary.

Yarn: 8 (9, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16) sks of Mountain Mohair, or Weekend wool (140 yds each)
Needles: US size 8 /5 mm 16 & 24” circular needle, & DPN’s
