Construction
By the Sunlight is a semi circular shawl that starts at the center and gradually increases into a half moon shape.
The shawl starts with a 2 color brioche stitch, switching to a 3 color garter stitch, then to a 1 color lace stitch, back to a 3 color garter stitch then the pattern repeats over again with different color combos.
This shawl is made with using 5 different yarn colors.
You can have fun picking colors that won’t normally go together (stash buster!) since the mix of colors in each section will blend and gradually fade into each other nicely.
The edge of the shawl has a built in i-cord finish for a nice clean edge, which also helps to hide the loose ends and the non-working yarns as you work.

Gauge
26 sts and 40 rows for 4” (10cm) in a stockinette stitch after blocking.
