Burtonesque
A design based on dichotomy. I needed something that could bridge the gap between short sleeves and a full on sweater to keep my hands and arms warm while working in my drafty office; Fingerless mitts that could also function as sleeves that were simple and yet complex. What began as a necessity soon evolved into a handcrafted homage to a directorial genius. The black and white imagery so often seen as elements in Burton’s films is echoed here in a simple mosaic stripe pattern that satisfies practicality while decreases and increases create a visual image that is distinctly skeletal.
