Burra Crocheted Jumper
A cropped, roomy sweater with a bold but simple cable design down the front, starting at the funnel neck. This structured sweater is designed to highlight the beauty of natural, Scottish yarns.
Langsoond yarn is made by Donna Smith Designs from Shetland wool from her own family’s croft along with friends and neighbours in the west of Shetland. As well as shades of the natural fleece, Donna uses natural dyes and extracts to colour the yarn on the croft.
The sweater is worked top down, starting at the neck with a htr foundation row, then worked entirely in turned rounds (on RS and WS). The cable pattern is worked on the front and can be worked from the chart or written instructions.
Once the yoke is complete, the body and sleeves are divided. The body is worked down to the hem, then each sleeve is worked down to the cuff.
The length of the Burra Jumper is adjustable, please note that any adjustments will affect the yarn quantities required.
