Inspired by triangular prisms, the Bright Side Shawl is a playful assembly of triangles and rainbows in a wide diamond shape.

Equal parts symmetrical and asymmetrical, this shawl is about balance, light and dark, good and bad. I’ve spent this year looking for rainbows in what feels like a constant storm, so this design is a meditation on that search, and ultimately, the joy of finally finding a rainbow.

Worked flat in friendly 2-row repeats, the Bright Side Shawl is a great “mindless” project that keeps your interest with steady increases/decreases and gratifying color changes.

Big enough to wear wrapped around the neck, over the shoulders, or even as a cover-up of sorts, this drapey shawl is a versatile year-round accessory.

This pattern was originally designed for Yarn Matter’s Rainbow After the Storm Collab Box.
