I love the fabric created by squishy cables. For this design, I combined two pairs of mirrored cables that point towards each other creating a look that made me think of those suspension bridges with the v shaping of chevrons. Knit in two colors with some unique design elements, you can choose colors that are high contrast or low, bright or neutral, modern or traditional. No matter what you choose, with this much detail you’ll never be bored while knitting this.

Details: The hat transitions smoothly from a simple ribbing to a cable panels featuring 4 different cables broken up by neat panels of purls. As designed, this hat should be worn as a close fitting beanie to keep your head and ears warm. The ribbing is extra long and designed to be worn folded or flat. Being knit from the brim up makes it easily customizable for more or less slouch. This hat is written in a single size but the ribbed nature provides stretch and will hug many different head sizes. The crown is finished with a small seam.

Size: Finished measurements are 17.5 circumference and 10.5” tall.

Yarn: Modern Daily Knitting Jane 1 balls each Aubergine and Yorkshire

Needle: 1 set US #4/3.5mm and US #5/3.75mm DPNs or 16” long circular
