Inspired by the legend of Saint Brigid’s miraculously expanding cloak, this shawl builds up over 32 segments (one for each county in Ireland), until it becomes a perfect, full circle.

Using a combination of traditional crochet at the beginning of each segment, and Tunisian crochet Simple Stitches for the rest, this shawl’s repeats mean it is accessible to the adventurous beginner and interesting enough to keep an experienced crocheter engaged.
