Just east of downtown Oklahoma City is an old brick warehouse area that has been revitalized into a thriving entertainment district now known as Bricktown. This shawl is the perfect accessory to wear when heading out to eat at one of the many restaurants, attending a baseball or basketball game, or walking along the canal with a significant other.

It is an interesting, but mellow knit using two contrasting yarns – either a variegated and a solid, or two solids. The asymmetrical shawl starts with a solid eyelet section. Then, the contrasting color is introduced but colors are switched every two rows. The little “bricks” are created with slipped stitches, so you are never working with more than one yarn per row. The third section repeats the eyelet pattern in the contrasting color.

The pattern is written for one size with instructions on how to modify for larger sizes.

Skills needed include: knit, purl, knit into the front and back of a stitch, knit 2 together, slip, and using two yarns (never on the same row, though).

This shawl is suitable for those with advanced beginner skills.
