Pattern Notes

Bricken is worked as a tube in the round, then a twist is added (if desired) and the ends are grafted together.

Gauge & Needles

32 sts/35 rounds to 10cm/4” over colourwork pattern using gauge-size needles. Samples knit with 2.5mm (UK 13-12/US 1½) needles; use your preferred needles for working small-diameter projects in the round. Work and block a swatch in the round. You will also need a second set of gauge-size needles for grafting the ends together.

Notions

  1. Stitch marker
  2. 2g/10m of smooth waste yarn, similar in weight to your working yarn in a colour that contrasts with your cowl
  3. 2.5mm (UK 13-12/US 1½) crochet hook or same size as gauge needles
  4. Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
