One of the qualities I admire most about Marlon Brando was his versatility. A masculine man’s man that was rough around the edges but whom took his art very seriously. I have always wanted to design a sweater inspired by Mr. Brando that prop- erly captured his bold personality, rustic masculinity, and clean, handsome style.

Brando is worked in pieces from the bottom up and then seamed for stability. Using a smaller needle for the wide rib- bing at the hem and cuffs adds just a touch of shaping without changing the silhouette of the comfy sweater.

Remember to choose a size based on the measurement of the widest part of your torso, be that your stomach or chest. This
will ensure a proper fit all around. Also note, Brando should be worked with 2-4 inches of ease for a loose fit.

Remember, when working with a yarn such as WATERshed, checking gauge and blocking the gauge swatch is very impor- tant. The yarn has a tendency to grow a small amount, which is completely normal, but gauge measurements should always be taken from a blocked swatch.

Instead work as follows:
Continue working even on armhole side while decreasing 1 st on neck edge every 4th row until 24 (27, 30, 33, 37, 40, 43) sts remain.
Work even, if needed, until piece measures the same as back. Break yarn leaving a 20 in. tail for grafting and slip sts to holder.
Work Right Side as for Left Side.
