Materials needed:
Worsted weight yarn
Crochet hook 5 and 5.5 mm
Scissors
Yarn needle
Yarn used: Hobbii Friends Wool (50g/100m, 100% wool)
Cognac (17) 15x (750 m)
Gauge: using a 5 mm hook, 15 dc over 11 rows = 10 x10 cm
(The gauge is not very important. If it’s different though, it might mean you’ll need more yarn.)
Measurements: 74 cm wide x 82 cm long

The “Braids” you’re going to make look more complicated than they are. The loops that you’ll make are easy to ‘braid’. You’ll simply pull them through each other using a crochet hook or your fingers.
The stitches in this pattern are all basic; just chain stitches and single - and double crochet stitches.
The Braid Plaid makes a perfect lapghan. You’ll use quite some yarn so the plaid will be pleasantly heavy.
To make it more colourful, you could make rows 2 and 3 in one colour and rows 4 and 5 in a different one.
