Bracken is an entrelac shawl inspired by traditional Hap shawl construction and patchwork quilts. It is worked from the point up and out to the hypotenuse then the edging is picked up along the adjacent and opposite sides and worked out. The entrelac blocks are worked in striped garter stitch. The only ends to weave in are the at the cast on and the bind off.

This shawl will work with a variety of yarns and needle gauges, matching stitch and row gauge is not critical. Knitting with fingering weight yarn on a larger needle in garter stitch will produce a light airy fabric, a fiber that will bloom with washing and wearing is recommended. This shawl can be knit to any size, any gauge and yardage will vary accordingly.

Finished Measurements
80” across the hypotenuse, 52” along the adjacent and opposite edges, and 30” deep from the center of the hypotenuse to the point.
