This adorable hat and mitten set will fit children 18 months to 48 months with few modifications. The hat will fit most heads between those ages, but can be modified by knitting fewer or more rounds after the contrasting band before decreasing for crown. The mittens can be modified by knitting fewer or more rounds from the top until the thumb round and again after the thumb round. The cloche is knit from the bottom up in the round, and the mittens are knit from the top down to the cuff in the round. This pattern is geared toward an intermediate knitter or a beginning knitter looking for a challenge because it uses a Turkish Cast-On for the mittens and bow and a Kitchener Stitch for binding off the bow (seamless edges).
