I really love capes and this is (so far) the closest I have got to knitting a proper ‘fairy-tale’ cloak.

This rich, velvety capelet is simply stitched, allowing the beautiful yarns to really excel. The main cape is knitted in chenille yarn, in plain stocking stitch, with careful, subtle tailoring to form the ‘three-penny bit’ shaped drape. The edge is then added: a gently fanned, pleated border in a cashmere blend yarn. The back of the neck is a soft arc of garter stitch.

Yarn used:
Rowan Chenille - 7x 50g balls
Rowan Finest - 3 x 25g balls
