As a special request this pattern was designed to coordinate with the Boho Cozy and Beanie set from last September.

Make to two mitts the same - there is no right or left hand.

There are many styles of stranded knitting in the world; traditional fair-isle is amongst the most famous. Only ever working with two colours at a time but looking much more complex, fair-isle patterns have their roots in the mists of time.
The motifs in fair-isle patterns are similar to Nordic and Spanish motifs; some attribute the patterns to foreign cast-a-ways, sailors ship wrecked on the rocks that surround the islands, who shared their traditional patterns or (most likely) the more prosaic trade that happens between countries, shared ideas and common heritages.

Materials: 4 colours of worsted weight yarn, 3 colours for the white mitt and 4 colours for the patterned mitt; samples used Estelle Eco Shetland Worsted, 3.75mm US #5 dpn’s, markers and the regular notions.

Gauge: 24 sts in 4 inches in stockinette – before wearing approx. 22 st in stockinette after wearing
