Bodangora DK
This pattern contains directions for both a DK (8 ply) and a Sport (5 ply) version. Choose a size closest to your actual head measurement, as this stitch doesn’t have a great deal of stretch.
Bodangora is a quick to knit beanie pattern, available in two weights 5-ply (Sport) and 8-ply (DK.) Knitter’s choice! The simple slip-stitch shows off variegated colorways at their best.
It’s also perfect for stash-busting. You can mix and match colorways and leftovers too precious to leave behind.
The hat is named for Mount Bodangora Merino, a sixth-generation Merino property run by the Lyons family, near Dubbo, NSW. They run a flock of 9,000 Soft Rolling Skin (SRS) Merino sheep.
The SRS Merino is fast growing with a high crimp that binds particularly well in the milling process and is renowned for its low itch feel. The sheep are smooth bodied, naturally resistant to fly strike and never need to be mulesed.
The wool at Mount Bodangora is grown under the ‘SustainaWOOL’ integrity scheme, to ensure a high standard of care for the sheep and their environment.
