Bobblelini
Worked from the top down in aran-weight yarn, this easy-to-make beanie has plenty of texture and warmth. Stars of the show are the three rows of little “bobbles,” simply made with treble stitch.
The beanie brim features rounds of third-loop hdc stitches, which resemble horizontal ribbing.
Though classic in a solid color or tweed, Bobblelini is also fun to make in a self-striping yarn. I couldn’t resist crocheting a couple of Noro versions, as well as a screaming bright, but surprisingly flattering, Red Heart Super Saver confection in the Retro Stripe colorway. However, I should point out that there can be color jogs where the rounds are joined. This may or may not be an issue with your self-striping yarn. Subtle color changes will be less noticeable. See photos of color jogs in Noro hats on this page.
