Blyde bedsocks
Blyde is a Shetland word used to describe gratefulness, gladness and lovliness. It can be used as a term of endearment; ‘She’s aafil blyde’. You can be blyde about something or you can simply be blyde yourself.
Blyde Bedsocks were inspired by slipper socks Helen used to wear as a child. She was very byde about them, especially as they had thick soles so her feet were warm. The thick sole on these is created by knitting the two strands of yarn together.
The socks are knitted from the top down. Foot length can easily be altered. Heel is shaped with short rows. The hearts signify love and cosiness.
