"When designer Katie Himmelberg moved to Colorado in 2005, she was struck by the undending blue skies that mark the region's weather year-round. She decided to bring those skies to her knitting with this landscape-inspired cardigan. A mountain vista is worked in stranded knitting around the body on a backdrop of single-color stockinette. The embroidered details are added later. The sweater is finished with ribbed buttonbands, a shawl collar, and generous folded-back cuffs. To make the stranded knitting easier, she used a steek for the front opening."
