Knit in the round on 16” (40 cm) needles, this little cowl uses less than a single skein of DK yarn and will work up quickly for a holiday gift. But you may want a second one for yourself!

The simple lace pattern reminds me of sailboats on the sea.

The lace uses only two stitches, yarn-over and ssk. Also used in the pattern are knit, purl, and Make 1.

At the top, the cowl measures approx. 16” (40cm) around and 24” (60cm) around at the bottom edge.

Any solid or near-solid DK yarn will work. Avoid heavily variegated yarns, as the pattern will get lost.
