Meet Blossom — a 14” tall huggable crochet elephant designed exclusively for Marly Bird by Megan Kreiner, the former Disney Feature Animation and DreamWorks animator behind Disney Classic Crochet and Baby Beasts.

Made with irresistibly soft super bulky chenille yarn, Blossom features a sculpted trunk (shaped with short rows), floppy ears, a sweet floral crown, optional tusks, and personality in every stitch. The 17-page pattern includes detailed photo tutorials AND video tutorials for every major section — the head, trunk, belly and body, legs, attaching the head, eyelids and ears, tail/hair/toes, and the flower crown.

The pattern uses Loops & Threads yarn from Michaels (Demi Purl for the body, Petite Purl for the hair, Skinny Chenille for the flowers). Any super bulky yarn that meets gauge will work as a substitute.

Skill level: Intermediate. You’ll be comfortable with this pattern if you’ve finished a few amigurumi projects before and you’re ready to learn short-row shaping — both video tutorials walk you through the new techniques step by step.

Special techniques: short-row shaping within continuous rounds (for the trunk and forehead), back-post and front-post single crochet, color changes, multi-piece amigurumi assembly with sewn seams.

For children under 3, embroider the eyes instead of using safety eyes.

Personal use and finished-object sales (small-business / craft fair) are permitted. The pattern PDF itself may not be resold, redistributed, or shared.

Marly is also a track coach. When her athletes feel intimidated by a big goal, she asks them: “How do you eat an elephant?” One bite at a time. Blossom is the mascot of that mindset.

One stitch at a time. You’ve got this.
