Bloomen Shawl
A triangular shawl with Art Nouveau style flowers set over simple eyelet triangles that resemble clover leaves.
The shawl is knitted from the top down and finished with a crochet bind off. The instructions are as both charts and written form.
Finished size: 65” / 165cm wide and 25.5” / 65cm deep after blocking.
Needles: US 3 / 3.25mm. Small crochet hook.
Gauge: 18 sts and 26 rows = 4” / 10cm in eyelet pattern, blocked.
The gauge should be seen as guidance only, since both finished size and gauge will depend on the degree of blocking.
Yarn: Knitwitches 100% pure silk laceweight, 660yards / 600m per 100g skein.
Yardage for sample shawl: 660 yards / 600m.
The shawl was knitted with one skein, but yardage will change with different yarn weights, needle size and number of pattern repeats worked.
The size of the shawl can be changed by working more or fewer repeats of Chart 1.
