The inspiration for Block In Block
It’s like playing with blocks. I designed a number of different patterns with types of squares and blocks. So grab your crochet hook and yarn and start crocheting this beautiful block blanket! We hope you enjoy this crochet adventure and be proud of the end result. Matching pillow pattern also included.

Materials
You can make this project with any kind of yarn and in any color you like. I don’t recommend using fluffy yarn because it makes the pattern less visible. I also don’t recommend using two colors that are very similiar (e.g. Light blue and turqoise) because you will not see the drawing clearly then. In the pattern we work with Color A and Color B. You can choose to switch colors, but we will continue to call colors A and B. In addition to your yarn, you will also need a matching crochet hook, at least 2 stitch markers, a darning needle to weave in the threads and scissors to cut the threads.

For the pictures for this pattern we used colors of Scheepjes Color Crafter. Scheepjes Color Crafter is a premium acrylic yarn that is available in over 90 colours. It comes in generous balls of 100 grams with no less than 300 meters per ball.

For one repetition of the pattern you’ll need:

Toddler bed blanket size: 120 cm by 150 cm: 7xA, 7xB
Single bed size: 140 cm by 200 cm: 11xA, 11xB
Double bed size: 220 cm by 200 cm: 17xA, 17xB

Size
You can make this pattern as narrow or wide as you want.
If you work with the prescribed material and with the same tension, the original pattern is approximately 2 cm for the border on each side, that adds 2 cm to width and length, so the pattern itself is about 40 cm wide. If you use the pattern 2 repeats side by side, your project will be 2 x 40 = 80 cm for the pattern + 2 cm for the border = 82 cm wide.

Tension
With Scheepjes Color Crafter and crochet hook size 4 mm, 1 square is approximately 1 by 1 cm.
