Bliss est un grand châle triangulaire symétrique tricoté en combinant un brin de laine fingering et un brin de laine lace.
Il se tricote en allers-retours de gauche à droite.
Bliss signifie bonheur, félicité. J’ai voulu imaginer un châle qui serait chaud grâce aux laines utilisées, douillet grâce à son ampleur mais élégant grâce à la torsade d’esprit baroque qui le borde. Je voulais aussi qu’il soit amusant et facile à réaliser.
Le modèle est accessible aux débutant.e.s curieux.ses. Les explications sont données sous forme de diagrammes ou écrites rang par rang.

Laine:
Le châle se tricote avec un mélange de 2 fils tenus ensemble: 1 fil de type fingering et 1 fil de type lace (mohair et soie) ou approximativement 770m / 842y de chacun des 2 fils. il peut également être tricoté avec un seul fil de DK.

Le modèle présenté a été tricoté avec 2 écheveaux de ByNightCreations MilkyWay (85% Mérinos sw / 15% viscose – 100 g/400 m/440 y) teints à l’hibiscus et 2 écheveaux de ByNightCreations Halo (72% superkid mohair / 28% soie de mûrier - 50g/420m/460y) teints au cachou-cochenille.

Largeur: 240cm / 92” - Hauteur: 80cm / 31”

Echantillon (après blocage) :
19 m. x 26 rangs = 10 cm / 4” en jersey endroit
17 m. x 24 rangs = 10 cm / 4” en point de sillon (voir patron)
(L’échantillon n’est pas indispensable mais un changement d’échantillon affectera la taille finale du châle et la quantité de laine utilisée)

4,5mm / US #7

Bliss is a large symmetric triangle shawl knitted holding one strand of fingering-type yarn together with one strand of Lace-type yarn. It is worked in one piece, back and forth from left to right.
With this design, I meant to create a shawl that would be warm thanks to the yarns used, comfy due to its large size but, yet elegant thanks to the baroque-styled cable that runs all along the border. I also wanted it to be fun and easy to make.
The model is accessible to curious beginners. Instructions are both on charts and written row by row.

Yarns:
This shawl is knitted holding 2 yarns together: 1 fingering-type yarn
and 1 Lace-type yarn (mohair and silk) or approximatively 770m / 842y of each yarn. You can also knit it with only one strand of DK-weight yarn.

Sample was knitted using 2 skeins of ByNightCreations MilkyWay (85% SW merinos / 15% viscose – 100 g/400 m/440 y) dyed with hibiscus and 2 skeins of ByNightCreations Halo (72% Superkid mohair / 28% mulberry silk - 50g/420m/460y) dyed with cutch and cochineal (cachou-cochenille).

Gauge (after blocking) :
19 sts. x 26 rows = 10 cm / 4” in stockinette stitch
17 sts. x 24 rows = 10 cm / 4” in farrow rib pattern (see instructions in pattern)
(Gauge is not necessary but a different one will affect the size of the finished shawl or the amount of yarn used)

4,5mm / US #7
