Here are the updated (May 2020) corrections for this pattern - the old printed pattern had some errors and some of the other ‘corrections’ published later were still confusing.

Here is Row 2 and 3 for the Large Heart:

Row 2: Ch 3, 1 dc in 1st dc, 2 dc in each of next 3 dc across. Turn. (8 dc)

Row 3: Ch 3, 2 tr -2 dc – CL, ch 3, sl st in same st as last dc of CL, ch 3, 2 dc-2 tr – CL, ch 3, sl st in top of turning ch. Do not turn.

2 tr-2 dc – CL =
YO 2x, insert hook in next st, YO, pull up lp, (YO, pull through 2 lps on hook) 2x 2 times;
YO, insert hook into next st, YO, pull up lp, (YO, pull through 2 lps on hook) 2 times;
YO, pull through all 5 lps on hook.

2 dc-2 tr – CL =
YO, insert hook in next st, YO, pull up lp, (YO, pull through 2 lps on hook) 2 times;
YO 2x, insert hook into next st, YO, pull up lp, (YO, pull through 2 lps on hook) 2x 2 times;
YO, pull through all 5 lps on hook.
