Bleaberry Tarn
These fun, simple socks help to show off a wonderful yarn with a decorative ribbed side cable, the knit stitches being worked through the back loop to give definition to the cable. The socks also feature a gusset heel and an Eye of Partridge heel flap. This unisex sock is designed to allow the colours of a handpainted yarn to shine though and would suit either solid or semi-solid yarns – it would look particularly fabulous in bold chunks of self striping yarn too.
Bleaberry Tarn sits below Red Pike in Buttermere – a favourite for family picnics. Bleaberry is also an old English word for Blackberry – which this lush purple yarn reminded me of.
This pattern is written for the magic loop technique but can be easily adapted for your preferred method of small circumference knitting.
As with several of my patterns, this is offered in both toe-up and cuff-down versions. Please ensure you select the correct file to download.
Thank you for your interest in my patterns - knit strong and have warm feet!
