Blanche
This figure hugging jumper is based on a classic 1950s silhouette with subtle waist shaping and a flattering square neckline. Knitted in DK weight yarn this is a quick and easy knit - providing you with the basic skills to knit jumpers and a great introduction to vintage style knits.
Instructions are provided to knit the jumper either in the round or in flat pieces to be sewn together. A three needle cast off is used at the shoulders to create a neat shoulder line. The flattering neckband is worked in one piece using a circular needle with double decreases worked at each corner to create a beautiful neckline.
Knitted in Excelana DK 100% British wool from Susan Crawford, which has lots of stretch, perfect for this form-fitting garment. The sample has been knitted in Chartreux but once you’ve knitted one, you’ll want one in every colour!
Garment shown in photographs is for the third size 86cm (34in) worn on a model with 86cm bust measurement and therefore with 2.5cm (1in) of negative ease at the bust.
The jumper is designed to be worn with between 2.5-7.5cm (1-3in) of negative ease as shown.
