Blackthorn
The blackthorn is a tree that produces the small fruit known as sloe berries, from which sloe gin is made. A cocktail of the same name is made from sloe gin and sweet vermouth. These fitted gloves, worked in a lovely and strong Shetland wool with the unusual addition of leather lacing on the back of the hand, remind me of that cocktail: a mysterious elixir with a sharp name, not overly sweet.
