Airy, light and delicate, this cowl gives just the right amount of coverage on windy Summer evenings or mild Winter days and will collapse and scrunch down into a soft collar when worn under a jacket.
Worked in the round from the bottom up, with only 11 rounds requiring the use of both colors at the same time.

Fully written and charted instructions!

Materials
Yarn
Malabrigo Silky Merino (51% Silk/49% Merino, 150 yards/137 m, 1.75 oz/50 gr)
1 skein each color A (421 Blackberry) and color B (76 Manzanilla Olive)
Or DK weight yarn in 2 colors, about 75 yds (69 m) color A, and 120 yds (110 m) color B
The properties of this yarn with it’s silk content are an important part of this design. When substituting yarns, select a yarn with comparable drape and softness.

Needles
US Size 6 (4 mm) 16” circular needle or size to obtain gauge
US Size 8 (5 mm) 16” circular needle, for Backberry stitch and bind off only

Gauge
22 st & 32 rows = 4” on US #6 (4mm) needles in stockinette stitch, row gauge is not important for this design

Notions
1 stitch marker

Finished Size
approx. 19”/48 cm circumference, 11”/28 cm high
