Biscayne Pullover
As both a knitter and a designer, I gravitate toward shapes and patterns that are interesting to knit while also flattering to wear. The Biscayne pullover was inspired by the beautifully accented Madelinetosh yarn that immediately reminded me of the ocean, which is a perfect blend with the Shoreline Wave border stitch.
The Stockinette stitch used for the main body has a dual purpose, not only showing off the subtle variations of the hand-dyed yarn, but also giving the sweater a smooth, flattering silhouette that doesn’t add bulk.
The bottom up design with provisional cast on maximizes the flexibility of the shaping by allowing the knitter to add or subtract length from the bottom and the sleeves later in the process. The shaping option to include short rows at the bust line allows further customization to make sure the sweater looks good and fits well.
Cast On Magazine is the official publication of The Knitting Guild Association. It is available in select yarn shops, or go to TKGA.com and become a Knitting Guild Member. You receive 4 magazines a year.
