There is nothing more beautiful in the world than a face full of joy.” -Petar II Petrović Njegoš

Shawls are my favorite companions when the days grow lighter, but there’s still a breeze in the air. They are easy to throw on and full of charm.
This one is named after Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro, once known as Birziminium, a city shaped by the layers of its long history, where Roman ruins meet modern rhythms. The Birziminium Shawl reflects that contrast: one side features a delicate lace pattern, while the rest is worked in soothing garter stitch.
Its asymmetrical triangle shape makes it easy to wear and enjoyable to knit, especially for advanced beginners ready to explore a bit of lace.
Pattern includes written and chart instructions.
