The sunlight shimmers through the leaves in the forest and brings the black and white bark of the birch trees to glow. This special mood has inspired me to the Lace Shawl Birkenlicht. The name means “light of the birch” in German.

This delicate shawl is knit from only 75g of fine lace yarn and offers a feather-light yet warming feel.

The shawl is knitted from the top down, you start with a few stitches, the shape is created by side and middle increases.
The size can be easily increased by repeating individual pattern sections more often (see tips in the instructions).

Das flirrende Sonnenlicht bricht durch die Blätter im Wald und bringt die schwarz-weiße Rinde der Birken zum Leuchten. Diese besondere Stimmung hat mich zum Lacetuch Birkenlicht inspiriert.
Dieses zarte Tuch wird aus nur 75g feinem Lace-Garn gestrickt und bietet ein angenehmes, federleichtes, und doch wärmendes Tragegefühl. Das Tuch wird von oben nach unten gestrickt, man beginnt mit wenigen Maschen, die Form entsteht durch seitliche und mittlere Zunahmen.
Das Tuch lässt sich leicht vergrößern, indem einzelne Musterabschnitte wiederholt werden (s. Tipps in der Anleitung).
