This is the first installment of my Columbus Parks series of shawls inspired by the beautiful parks here in Central Ohio. Many folks think Ohio has nothing but cornfields between Cincinnatti and Cleveland, but little do they know that Columbus is full of exciting and wonderful things to see and do. And some of my favorite things to see and visit are the parks around the city. My favorite park to visit is Blendon Woods Metro Park, and they have a wonderful nature center that has a lookout room to observe the fauna that make Central Ohio their home. Some of the things I’ve observed there are various downy and pileated woodpeckers, as well as eastern bluebirds.

Birdwalk is worked in one piece, with shortrows used for the color block in the center. Starting at the center top and worked outward, this shawl is easy enough for an advanced beginner yet interesting enough for more advanced crocheters.

Without further ado, here is Birdwalk.
