Birdseye beret
Super-chunky doesn’t necessarily mean super-clunky. When you knit a lace pattern with very bulky yarn, the
result is the best of both worlds; cozy thick and warm yet sweet and lacy. This beret is super-fast to knit
too, making it a great go-to gift hat. Indulge yourself and knit one in each of your favorite Rasta colors. The Birdseye beret is a squooshy hat that knits up quickly in a super bulky yarn. The bulk of the yarn provides texture and the yarn is highlighted with the simple twisted rib brim and eyelet fabric in the top.
Construction Notes
This hat is a simple and very quick knit. A few rows of twisted rib create the brim and then the slouchy hat is worked in a simple 6 stitch lace repeat. The decreases continue the pattern right to the very top using 12 stitches per repeat.
If you want to make a worsted weight version check out the modifications at the Tangled blog.
