Are you as obsessed with knitting as I am? Then you need this hat! While to uninitiated this pattern may seem just chevrons, every fellow knitter will be in the know. Big Stitch Beanie is a colorwork hat that is, in essence, big loops of stockinette. Colorwork here is simple enough to have a beginner knitter moving along with confidence. It is also captivating for the mind of an advanced knitter, who would be going for “just one more row” to see the picture appear in their hands.

Skill level: advanced beginner to intermediate
Finished dimensions: Sized for children (head circumference 20”/50 cm) and adults (head circumference 22”/55 cm)
Suggested Yarn: fingering weight yarn, total of 2 oz/50 g or 250 yd/ 230 m fo adult size. I have used Jamieson&Smith 2-ply jumperweight shetland wool, one skein of Dark Cream and one skein of Raspberry.
Needles: size 3 (3.25 mm) and size 5 (3.75 mm) double pointed needles, or size needed to obtain gauge.
Gauge: 13 st and 15 rows = 2 inches in colorwork.
