Big Fat Hat
These hats in Teddy Dear can be made in two different versions, both with plenty of room for your hair. One version is a baggy beanie, the other one is a round beret. Both hats are one-size, but the circumference of the ribbed cuff depends upon your choise of needle size. Furthermore, you can choose to fasten your cuff or just fold it.
Size: One-size
Cuff circumference: Approx. 55-60 cm.
Materials:
Teddy Dear (50% Merino Wool, Mulesing Free, 40% Alpaca Superfine, 10% PA, 50 g = 75 m): 1 ball.
My Wool (100% Merino Extra Fine, 50 g = 125 m) or Pura Lana (50% Wool, 50% Alpaca, 50 g = 115 m): 2 balls for cuff and hat.
Needles & Tools:
Japanese Koshitsu bamboo needles from Seeknit and Gepard:
6-7 mm circular needle (40 cm) for cuff, needle size depending on desired cuff circumference.
10 mm circular needle (40 cm) and double pointed needles for top.
1 locking stitch marker for beginning of round.
Gauge: 10 sts and 12 rows in stockinette stitch with 1 strand of Teddy Dear + 1 strand of My Wool or Pura Lana and 10 mm needles = 10 x 10 cm.
Adjust needle size if necessary.
