With a big, bold colorwork, this pattern is simply charming! The two-color diamond motif is easy to memorize and follow—perfectly approachable for those new to colorwork. With cozy structure (and an extra touch of warmth) thanks to the hidden ‘floats’ and a more-close-fitting size, this cowl is a fun, cozy accessory.

Plush, chunky-weight Rowan Brushed Fleece yields a wonderfully snuggly Big Diamond Colorwork Cowl. A super-soft blend of extra fine merino and baby alpaca, Brushed Fleece is warm and insulating, yet remarkably light. And all that plump fluff means you’ll have a cozy cowl in no time!

We also knit it using Brooklyn Tweed Arbor Lodge. This chunky-weight, worsted-spun yarn is composed of 7 plies of pure, 23.5-micron Targhee fleece sourced in Montana and South Dakota. That round, snugly spun strand creates a firm, well-structured fabric with plenty of woolly softness. And wow, that crisp stitch definition! Delightful in the contrasting colorwork of our cowl.
