Biased scarf
Tunisian crochet : quick, versatile and fun.
Just like they say, it’s like knitting with one needle.
This Tunisian stitch has a secret : a slanted effect that always wants to go left. The finished result is a scarf with a nice texture and giggling pointed edges astutely camouflaged with a thin curtain of fringes.
This pattern provides you with a step by step photo tutorial of the slanted stitch, so that when you master it you will be able to make a variety of projects with it, from diamond motives for dishcloths to solid textured afghans. This thin scarf with a slanted edge will appeal to the dandy with an acute sense of humour.
Finished measurements
Displayed : 145 cm long (without fringes), about 25 cm wide.
Difficulty
Beginner. Those who are not familiar with Tunisian crochet will be guided through the photo tutorial.
Yarn : You may use any yarn you like. The scarf displayed above used 2 skeins (about 120g) of fingering weight / sock yarn (Belgian yarn “Plein vent”).
Crochet hook : use a Tunisian crochet hook 2 sizes bigger than the needle size written on the skein :
“plein vent” is to be used with n°3,5 knitting needles => I used a 5,5mm crochet hook.
