Crochet level:

You should know how to crochet following stitches:

• ch (chain), hdc (half double crochet).

This pattern includes:

• Very detailed step-by-step pictures with written instructions.
• Chart.
• instructions are given in English language, American crochet terminology.

Crochet hook:

• 5 mm / H / 8.

Recommended materials:

• 4 worsted weight yarn (shown here Caron One Pound Yarn in Off White color, 100% acrylic, 16 oz / 453.6 g / 812 yards / 742.5 m) - 180 (210, 250) g / 6.4 (7.5, 8.9) oz for scarf, 32 (37, 40, 44, 50, 62, 71, 80, 84, 93) g / 1.2 (1.4, 1.5, 1.6, 1.8, 2.2, 2.6, 2.9, 3, 3.3) oz for hat, 30 g / 1.1 oz for two scarf pom-poms and 18 g / 0.7 oz for hat pom-pom.

• Tapestry needle, sharp scissors, pom-pom makers to make 6 cm / 2 ¼’’ and 4 cm / 1 ½’’ diameter pom-poms or follow instructions to make pom-pom makers out of cardboard (you will also need a compass and a piece of cardboard).

Sizes:

• Hat sizes: Newborn (1-2 months, 3-4 months, 5-7 months, 8-12 months, 1.5-4 years, 5-8 years, Teenager, Woman, Man).
• Scarf sizes: 120 (145, 170) cm x 19.5 cm / 47 ¼ (57, 66 ¾)’’ x 7’’.

Gauge:

• Half Double Crochet Bias Rib Stitch: 10 rows (5 ribs) x 17 sts = 13.5 cm x 10 cm / 5 ¼’’ x 4’’, measured accordingly parallel and perpendicular to long edge.
• Take time to check gauge!
