Bi - the ballerina
This is a pattern for a stuffed toy Bi - the ballerina. The toy, shoes and the dress are knitted flat on 2 needles and then sewn, but the sleeves are worked in the round on double pointed needles
MATERIALS: skin/ nude color DK yarn approximately: 20 - 25 g
white DK yarn approximately: 5 - 10 g
lemon yellow DK yarn approximately: 5 -10 g
color of choice for the hair and buns: 5 -10 g
piece of strong pink thread for the lips
piece of strong white thread for the eyes (I used
embroidery threads)
Various beads for decoration (optional)
KNITTING GAUGE:
24 sts and 28 rows to 10 x 10 cm = 4” x 4” in stocking stitch (knit row on right side, purl row on wrong side) and 2.5 mm needles.
Gauge is not critical for this project. Work tight enough to make sure the stuffing would not show through the stitches.
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: 20 cm/ 7.87’’ (without the buns)
The size will vary based on yarn type, needle size and your personal tension.
NEEDLES:
2.5 mm needles
2.5 mm crochet hook for the dress clasp/ loop
2.75 mm needles for the dress
2.75 mm double pointed needles for the sleeves
NOTIONS:
Tapestry needle
2 x 6 mm safety eyes
Removable sts markers
1 tiny flat button
Stuffing
