Between Olive and Pine Shawl
Between Olive & Pine
INTRO OFFER: 25% off with the code BETWEEN until midnight on 2nd March 2025.
This shawl has been designed in collaboration with Botanical Yarn using a mini skein set of 5 x 20g minis and a full 100g skein of fingering weight yarn.
The shawl has the right wingspan and depth to use up one skein of fingering weight yarn plus highlights of the mini skein colours. It creates a beautiful accessory to keep or gift.
Of course, you could knit this design in any weight yarn, but you would need different amounts and may need to adjust pattern repeats to get the desired dimensions.
Information:
Yarn: The pattern requires approximately 425m of fingering weight for the main yarn. If your skein has less, or more, you can still use it, see the instructions on page 3.
Sample 1: 1 x 100g (425m) Merino Sock from Botanical Yarn in the colour Pampas Grass and 5 x 20g minis in the Flock Fiber 2024 show special colour way.
Sample 2: 1 x 100g (425m) Merino Sock from Botanical Yarn in the colour Cotyledon Undulata and 5 x 20g minis in the Yorkshire Coast Collection colour way.
Needles: suggested needles US 4/3.5mm or needles required to get gauge
Gauge: 35 sts and 39 rows to 10 cm/4” all in pattern unblocked.
Gauge is important, especially when you may be using a special single skein. I suggest knitting the Set up and Section one and using this as your gauge swatch. This pattern uses most of one skein, so you probably won’t have enough to do a separate gauge swatch.
Measurements: Approximately: wingspan 170 cm/75” and depth 21 cm/8” blocked
