Better Baby Rattle
This pattern can be found on pages 56-59
Nonallergenic cotton has long been a favorite fiber for clothing and toys made for infants and children. Katie Himmelberg went a step further by using 100 percent organic cotton for this adorable baby rattle—no pesticides, chemicals, or dyes involved. Even better, a knitted rattle has no hard edges to cause inadvertent bruises. Katie’s rattle is knitted from one short end to the other and shaped with short-rows along the way. She tucked a jingle bell inside the stuffing—organic roving for the diehard—and added a couple of felt ears and embroidery for character.
