Betsy Butterfly
Betsy Butterfly is crocheted in double crochet stitch as flat pieces following simple written instructions and she is decorated with embroidered cross stitches and French knots. Betsy measures about 11cm (4.5 inches) long excluding antennae and 12.5cm (5 inches) wide. She is crocheted in a light DK (Sport Weight) pure wool yarn to a tension of 11sts and 11 rows to 10cm (4 inches). This particular Betsy Butterfly is crocheted in Riihivilla’s Aarni (100% wool; 120m (131yd)/100g) pure Finn sheep yarn, and requires only about 25g of yarn to complete. She is an ideal project to make if you have small amounts of yarn to use up. You can use any weight of yarn with these instructions – just make sure you follow the suggested tension on the ball band.
