Betelgeuse
This pattern is available in print
for $5.50.
This striped sock is the easiest toe-to-top sock in the collection, hence a good one to start with to see if you like this method. I’ve used colors from other socks for stripes, but this pattern works nicely even monochrome.
When you use stripes of many different yarns you can use up odds and ends of almost anything (count about a yard of yarn per stripe), but you are left with an enormous number of ends. I have handled those by making a fringe out of them on the leg, while on the foot, tiring them together on the inside and cutting them off. You can do the same all the way up the leg if you don’t want a fringe.
