I asked my tech editor if a knit version of the crocheted Attleboro Sweater was feasible. He doubted that the angles and arches of crochet would translate. Suddenly, my ambitions fired; I would prove him wrong, and this would be easy.

Three years later I wrote him that he was right; of course he was right, the tech editor is always right.

The Bet-cha Sweater is knit in the round, bottom
up. The mistake rib body and sleeves join into
partial raglan seams. The front of the sweater has
in pattern bust shaping just below the yoke. Short
rows raise the back of the neck while continuing
the raglan decreases. The yoke is placketed, and
the open work is formed by either extended loop
stitches, or combinations of cast-on and bound-off stitches.
The only yarn overs which are treated as regular
yarn overs are the yo2 in the last round of bootlace
curves.

The sizes are named after the finished measurements
of the bust.

The pattern calls for 763( 1067, 1143, 1293, 1372, 1524)yds MC and 85(85, 170, 170, 170, 170)yds CC of yarn, and three buttons.
